Jai Ma!! Victory to the Feminine by Nubia Teixeira

She – the Devi – is Nature.

She – the Devi – is within and without us as a force called Prana Shakti.

She – the Devi – is showing us her strength, her wisdom and her power.

We – the devotees – are part of Her

We – the devotees – are the guardians of Her qualities, faculties and gifts.

We – the devotees – are given a fraction of Her life force, so we can shine upon this earth as Her emissaries.

You all know by now of my LOVE for the Bhakti Tradition and of my DEVOTION to the yogic Bhakti Path! I am very excited to be teaching my upcoming workshop, Embodying Devotion: A Bhakti & Hatha Yoga Afternoon on Sunday, Dec. 9th 2:30-5:30 pm at Yoga Mountain Studio.

You know by now of my BELIEF in the UNIVERSAL MOTHER’S MERCY and GRACE, and how devotion to the Universal Mother is the HEART of my teaching and the SOURCE of my daily living. I am here to share with you what I believe to be the most potent, nurturing and authentic ME! And that the Devotion to the Mother Goddess is a spiritual path that we can all partake in.

I rest on Her lap, when I am depleted. And She feeds my body and my soul.

I cry on her arms, when I am grieving. And She hears my woes and heals my wounds.

I follow her orders, when I am lost. And She guides me back to Her road of Grace.

SHE IS MY ALL and ALL, and I am humbled to declare myself as Hers.

One of the books that I worship, and that I use as a reference in my life is called the “Devi Mahatmyam” or the Glory of the Goddess. In this sacred text we hear the stories of greatness of the Divine Mother being sung by the Gods; we learn from these stories about Her ability to destroy evil and her unique capacity of bringing balance back to earth; Via storytelling we, Her children, are inspired to emulate Her strength as we bow to Her mystery over and over again. These are all lessons we can apply to our daily life and what I teach in this workshop.

Followers of the Divine Mother are known as Shaktas. There are many different sects in India following different aspects of the Mother in Her thousands of forms and in Her thousands of names.

As the Source, She is “AdiShakti” or primordial mother-source; as creation, she is “ParaShakti” or pervading mother-presence;  as a container that holds us all and everything, She is “MahaShakti” or the great mother-force.

The path of Shaktism is the path of honoring the Divine Feminine as the power of creation, sustenance, and destruction. She, the Devi, birthed Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva to work on their roles as the creator, the sustainer and the destroyer.  In order for them to support Her in Her work in the three-worlds, She delegated to them powers and duties to fulfill. Same with us…..

I could go on and on in this beloved subject, and this blog is but a taste of what is in store for you when you take my workshop. I want to invite you to join me from 2:30-5:30 pm for Embodying Devotion: A Bhakti & Hatha Yoga Afternoon on Sunday, Dec. 9th at Yoga Mountain Studio., to dive deeper into ways to worship the three main Goddesses; Saraswati or the power of Creation/Inspiration; Lakshmi the power of Sustenance/Love; and Durga the power of Transformation/Protection. My hope is that with understanding more about The worship of the feminine and honoring of these cyclic Forces without, you will open to their powers within.

Let’s take this journey together!
